Robert Stones created new topic Crosswords No Longer Supported?.
July 3 at 3:03 pm
Hi Mav, I thought of a cool training method by delivering certain information security buzz words and tech jargon, that could be put into a monthly crossword for e.g. and given to my registered members, kind of an engaging way to make people more cyber aware etc. Then I notice on the main marketing page for Community Crosswords, it says it is no longer supported - or it is but only for members who had it, when you decided to stop new support, is this correct please? I only ask, as I have looked in JED and there is not ONE other Crossword option. :( I look forward to your response. Regards, -

Actually, scrub that Mav - I couldn't find it by creating a demo quiz in the frontend version of your demo site but I went to the admin backend of your demo site this time and I now see the Scorewise Message feature, to the right side of when creating a new quiz. So if my scorewise messages are; Question 1 & Answer 1 = 5 pts for a correct answer and message of "Service 1 is advised". When the quiz scores are totalled at the end of it, if a user has scored 5 or more, they see the message Service 1 for e.g.? So if I add another question; Question 2 & Answer 2 = 10 pts for a correct answer and message of "Service 2 is advised" - does this mean that it will only show the message for the 2nd answer at the end of the quiz, as they've reached 10 pts - or will it show the message for answer 1 and 2 as 5pts is surpassed and also 10 pts for the 2nd answer? So in a quiz being setup in extended options, I now note the following too; Points/Response = Points/Failed Response = Is the Scorewise Message feature embedded in to the + positive points reponse feature, the - negative points response feature or neither please? I am just wanting to see further, if I use the Scorewise message feature, how I choose to construct, design and create the points system; so that it all works and makes sense to get what I need from it. Also, I see Category quiz can have more than one page, does this mean to get pagination - category quiz is the only choice, or can pagination be had with the normal quiz? Lastly for now, I notice it says "You can choose whether your quiz should be displayed with or without your template. Great for taking response on full screen." So if I want to display with my template, it's a Rockettheme Gantry5 template, I believe which uses Bootstrap, will your quiz component take on the design elements of my normal template then? I look forward to your thoughts. Regards, -

Mav, Thanks for the reply. However, as I can't find documentation for the quiz component, I don't know where to look in the demo for 'Scorewise Messages' feature that you talk about in your original reply above? Can you please point me to this or send me a screenshot, what this feature looks like in the backend please. I need to test it out first hand before committing to any purchase of the component. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards -

Hi Mav, I'd like to see if your Community Quiz can do the following in it's Vanilla flavour please? I need to create let's call it a 'Risk Assessment' which is predominantly question and text based but may need images to explain things but it's essentially a quizz. Question 1 - With Single Answer and max score of 10 Question 2 - With Multiple Answer and max score of 5 End of Quizz with the following output. A numerical total score is fine but I need to attach my site's paid services / products names to the questions if that makes sense, so the final output would be something like; Question 1 scored with 10 total - this means you are advised to choose X service Question 2 scored with 5 total - this means you are advised to choose Y service I hope you can understand my methodology above but if not, as this is an incredibly important item I need to find a component solution for, that's as close to the above - please DO ask me anything additional, for you to understand my needs and fingers crossed the above can be delivered with your quizz component. P.S. I'm wondering if the above requirement, can be served with Conditional states added to each Question, Answer and the overall outcome? I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, -

Mav, *Phew* I'm glad you also see it now and I can breath a sigh of relief that I'm not going stark raving mad haha! I will wait for an update r.e. this but in the meantime, what does your 'Content - CjBlog- plugin provide exactly, as I'm wondering if there's important elements of my desire to use CjBlog throughout for my site's own blog, that will be delayed till we can have the ability to enable content cjblog plugin? Maverick wrote: Done, I moved the menu to your ishk blog menu. Please enable your header module on all these menus. Mav, Where was this menu / item though, just for future reference as up until showing the database table record in the last message; neither of us to that point could drill down to where this was located and hence the confusion? I now seem to have the blog header on all blog pages, so this threat can be considered solved - if not an easy one for others to follow who may end up with the issue I found that I had. Much appreciated all the same and I can now move on to other things with the blog. Regards, -

Maverick wrote: That's what my confusion also. You have "CjBlog - Categories" menu item somewhere but is not shown in any of your menu items. Strange, may be a bug in Joomla. For now, what we can do is search that menu item in the database directly. Please send me the xxx_menus table data. Or you find row with the alias column value as "blog" and let me know the id of that row. Hi Again Mav, I've gone in to phpmyadmin and downloaded just the one 'blog' result from the xxx_menu table, please find it attached. P.S. I do also have it in csv for excel or .sql txt file but downloaed purely to make it easier on the eye for you in word. Regards, -

Maverick wrote: I don't see any change by enabling or disabling cjblog content plugin. I enabled content plugin now and can see both the urls mentioned in your first post above and last one in this topic are working fine. No blank page shown. So you must have disabled some other plugin. Please check. This is very weird as when I enable the 'Content - CjBlog' plugin and then reload this URL I get the blank white page in both Chrome and FF. Conversely, when I disable the 'Content - CjBlog' plugin, the same prev blank white page URL above shows as it should but to re-iterate ONLY when the cjblog content plugin is disabled. Let me know your further thoughts. Regards, -

Maverick wrote: Well, there is no way the component can add that url. It must be from some menu item, this is the reason why I am asking you to let me know where can I see that. I searched everywhere but could not find it. How did you get to know about such url? you must have created it sometime earlier. P.S. All urls you mentioned in your last post are from Joomla content component (articles) and not from cjblog. Well the 3rd URL mentioned in the Original Post above Mav you can get to it from the following; Here... In effect this URL comes about by following these steps; First is the top level menu item Here... Secondly if you were to click either of the two test category blog article links on that intro page, that would take you to Here... or Here... Then I'd added two sub menu items to the main Blog menu item to show Blog Articles and Blog Tags - which you can see Here... and Here... Now NOTE that there now appears the CjBlog silver / light grey header toolbar, click the link in that toolbar named 'Categories' and see what happens to the URL - basically that is where I got the 3rd URL you speak of above. These are also the pages that I just CANNOT get my Blog Header on to, yet it shows just fine on general joomla only (no CjBlog based plugins or anything) pages, which just confuses further. However, I cannot figure out why it's doing this particular aspect. All I know is that between whatever is causing this issue / confusion in this topic and then the other topic about the 'Blog Articles not Showing when Clicked On' my head hurts. I look forward to your further thoughts on the above but most definitely in the last URL above, as I'm 100% sure I have found that gremlin but need your help to see how we can solve it, so I can have that re-enabled permanently (it's switched off at present) Regards, -

Mav, I THINK I'VE FOUND IT! This is in part related to the blog header topic dialogue between ourselves in your forum Mav but I've done the following and believe I've found the offending item but I have no idea what it's doing exactly or why, so would really like you to take a look please. Carry this out via Manage Extensions screen in my admin; If I disable 'Content - CjBlog' the following Category Blog full Articles finally show as would be expected, unlike before and prior to finding the offender just now. If I re-enable 'Content - CjBlog' then I go back to the 2 test Category Blog Articles showing as a blank white page. Please remember to 'Clean Cache' in the bottom of my admin taskbar and then your browser cache, then go back to this URL and with the re-enabled 'Content - CjBlog' where if you hit F5 low and behold the full test category blog article should show up. Please let me know if you find the same when you carry out the above via my admin, the prev credentials are still fine. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, -

Mav, This is weird as I can't even locate the /blog one, only the iskh-blog. Do you have any idea why the /blog one cannot be located anywhere, not even in trash but the system is saying it's live :/ I've added a standard 'single article' to test as you will see here... which seems to work just fine but then when it comes to loading any category blog articles, they just white blank page with a URL I'm unsure if is actually correct. See that here... So it seems there's an issue in my sites category blog article delivery, would you agree? Regards, -

Mav, If I understand you correctly, you're asking me where would I actually like to see this menu item located... right? If so, under the 'Kraken Theme' menu which is in effect the 'Coming Soon' holding few pages you're seeing and I'm testing the blog on... so as a parent of This... Thanks in advance. -

Maverick wrote: Ok, let me explain. Your first url which is showing header:https://www.isknow.how/iskh-blog/iskh-blog-articles/latestThis url is pointing to a menu item with "alias" as iskh-blog. Now seconf url which is not working:https://www.isknow.how/blog?view=categoriesThis url is pointing to a menu item with "alias" as "blog" These are urls from two different menu items. But I can see you have assigned your header module to menu item "iskh-blog" but there is no "blog" menu item at all. Hence the header do not show in later url. Hope I explained clearly. Mav, I still don't understand how I resolve this potential issue, is there anyway you can this once action for me with the admin credentials I sent the other day - as I hand on heart am sat here reading what you say and I kind of understand but then I just don't have a clue how to resolve it? :( Regards, -

Maverick wrote: Whatever the menu item you are pointing has alias iksh-blog. Please note that urls will refer to aliases in their name to detect which menu they belong to. In your case your url is https://www.isknow.how/blog?view=categories which refers to blog menu item alias. Hi Mav, Thanks for the reply. However, I must be having a thick moment, as I'm sat here re-reading your last message and I'm still none the wiser I'm afraid, as to what you're meaning - apologies for my not understanding this time around... can you explain any further as to how you think what you're saying in the last message, could relate to the original problem I put in this thread... maybe that could help? Mav, Try and click on any of the test blog articles within this link... as it just loads in to a blank white page but with no error reporting, so I'm still missing something in the config but reading your documentation, through this forum and generally poking around in various areas of the admin backend... I can't seem to solve this particular issue. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, -

Mav, Ah ok, cool. So just to make sure, as this is an additional 'mod' what will happen when you make an update to the main cjblog component, will you make the archive module also updated for ALL cjblog users, to assure compatibility or maybe you look to include these kind of 'additions' in to the core cjblog at each next main update to the component? Great work and thanks. Regards, -

OK no worries Mav, I will for now make do with the cjblog's in-built tags feature in the blogs header bar anyway. Regards, -

Maverick wrote: I don't see any menu item with alias "blog" (your third url). And obviously the header module is not assigned to this unknown menu item. Mav, Im not sure if this is correct or that we are thinking the same thing but if you look at the attached screenshot, I'm not using my 'mainmenu' at present and this cjblog I'm testing is currently on my 'kraken theme' menu, which is in effect my 'coming soon' holding site section... I'm working on my 'mainmenu' main website behind the scenes. Therefore, I believe I do have the blog item / alias in place and live - can you please confirm which one of us is misunderstanding, so we can move forward to finding the solution with this specific issue please. :) Regards,
