The user has the right to see the category but not the topic. I suggest to improve under which conditions a mail is sent so that not only the category is taken into account... -

There is no such restriction exists. Go to Components -> CjForum -> Users and sync users. Also make sure "User - CjForum" plugin is enabled. -

For any reason I get no points in CJForum, while others get them. So the point system is activated. Do SuperUsers get no points?
