Personally I think that the component can be made more search engine friendly. There are many factors which contribute to it. I am just list 2

    I agree with you. However keywords are part of content. So if your content is good enough to attract visitors, search engines too attracted :) . And more good content will be generated only through more community interactions so it is most important to have an active community with right tools to engage them. Community Polls and Community Answers are two such tools and using Community Surveys helps them to get back to your website through regular feedbacks.
