Sending email to people who have subscribed to a topic

OK. So I think that this works like this

For purpose of moderating permission for category

- if it is set to Denied - then auto publish.

- If it is set to Allowed - topic is sent for moderation and email is generated and added to CJLib queue

- if it is set to Inherited - topic is sent for moderation and email is NOT generated and added to CJLib queue

So what this means is to specifically choose as allowed or denied. Not to leave it as inherited.

Ok, understood. the issue is how the permission is being checked. The permission is checked on the topic but not on category. Hence when you are using category level permission, it is not working. Please follow the below steps.

Edit plugins/cjforum/topics/topics.php and find below code at line 161

if($topic->_moderate || ($user->authorise('core.moderate.topic', 'com_cjforum.topic.'.$topic->id)  && ! $user->authorise('core.admin', 'com_cjforum')))

change it to

if($topic->_moderate || ($user->authorise('core.moderate.topic', 'com_cjforum.category.'.$topic->catid)  && ! $user->authorise('core.admin', 'com_cjforum')))

This should fix your third test case.

If you are going to release this as a fix in the next version - i will wait for next version. Till then I am happy to set the permission as Allowed or Denied instead of inherited.

There is no planned release in the next week, you may have to wait two weeks for the next update.
